Is there a state exam requirement to be licensed?
Yes, all home inspector licensees must submit proof of passing an examination offered by the following:
- American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)
- National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI)
- National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI)
- Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors (EBPHI)
- International Code Council (ICC).
Are there any experience requirements to be licensed?
No
Are there any other requirements to be licensed?
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Submit application and associated fees
- Submit proof of having errors and omissions insurance coverage in the amount of $100,000
When do the license expire?
All licenses expire annually on June 30th.
Are there any Continuing Education requirements to renew a license?
No
